At Aurora, you will tackle massively complex problems alongside other passionate, intelligent individuals, growing as an expert while expanding your knowledge. For the latest news from Aurora, visit aurora.tech or follow us on LinkedIn.

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all.

The Fleet Intelligence team is at the core of Aurora's mission to scale safe autonomous driving. We build systems that synthesize data from our entire ecosystem—from vehicles, operators, and external sources—to power real-time and offline data flows essential for fleet optimization, autonomy improvement, and commercial operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of user-facing web applications that are essential for monitoring and managing Aurora’s commercial fleet.
  • Own major features from technical design to launch, serving as a key contributor and point of contact for complex projects.
  • Translate vehicle, operational, and autonomy data into intuitive, actionable insights that drive operational excellence and bolster fleet safety.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders in Autonomy and Operations to build impactful features that advance our self-driving technology.
  • Drive the evolution of our frontend systems by identifying and advocating for necessary changes in architecture and technology.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a team culture of collaboration, feedback, and engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building complex, user-facing web applications with modern frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Proven ability to own and deliver substantial features or components within a large-scale front end application, from technical design to launch.
  • Experience with web communication protocols, like gRPC, REST, and GraphQL.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A strong sense of product ownership and a motivation to see features through the entire development lifecycle.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with web frontend concepts such as CDN, Ingress Gateway, and Server-Side Rendering.
  • Experience with web security technologies like RBAC, Session Auth, JWT Auth, and Federated SSO.
  • Familiarity with application release strategies such as feature flagging, A/B testing, and canary releases.
  • Experience with application metrics tracking and error tracing (e.g., Grafana, Mixpanel, Sentry).
  • Prior experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, fleet management, or real-time distributed systems.
  • Experience with safety and mission-critical applications.

The base salary range for this position is $146,000-$234,000. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
