We're looking for a technical leader to architect the resilient, high-throughput systems that make that experience seamless and trustworthy, even as we scale to new global markets and product lines.

What You'll Tackle

• Architect for Scale: You'll be instrumental in designing the next evolution of our purchasing APIs, ensuring they can handle Black Friday-level traffic spikes without breaking a sweat.
• Solve Complex Logic Problems: Partner with product and design to map out and build the backend systems for intricate, multi-step purchasing journeys that feel simple and intuitive to the user.
• Drive Future Growth: Figure out how to decouple our core purchasing logic so we can launch in a new country or support a completely new type of product in weeks, not months.
• Elevate the Team: Act as a technical compass for the engineering team, elevating the skills of your colleagues through thoughtful code reviews, mentorship, and clear architectural guidance.
• Build Intelligent Systems: Go beyond simple request-response. Help us design and implement event-driven workflows that can manage complex, long-running processes autonomously.

• You think about software from the user's perspective all the way down to the infrastructure it runs on. You're as comfortable discussing API design as you are debating the merits of a database choice.
• You don't just build what's asked; you ask "why" and work with your team to find the simplest, most robust solution to a business problem.
• You thrive in a collaborative environment where you can share your knowledge and learn from others to move faster together.
• Our current stack includes TypeScript, React, and various AWS services, so you'll be able to hit the ground running.

Expected Pay Range: $171,000 - $198,000 per year salaried*

* The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
