Truss is looking for a skilled, hands-on, senior software engineer with strong backend Java knowledge.
This person will be expected to get up to speed on complex code and tax logic quickly and mostly independently.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a fast pace project that expects constant delivery.
The work is meaningful and the team is dedicated but it can be challenging and everyone is expected to perform and contribute at a high level.
In addition, like everyone at Truss, this person should have excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and high emotional intelligence.
This is a fully remote, temporary contract position with the potential to become permanent based on performance and in the event that the project work is extended.
The following technical skills are required to be considered for this role:We use AI tools in our work as appropriate.
Our engineering interview will not require you to write any code. We will ask you to walk through code with us, and we will want to know whether you're able to operate as an engineer who can distinguish and clearly explain the difference between good code and substandard AI-generated code.
Following this reasoning, we ask that you please do not use any AI tools during the interview itself.
Eligibility:
You must be eligible to work in the U.S. and may be required to pass a federal background check at the discretion of the client/project you are placed on. Truss employees and contractors must live and work within the contiguous U.S. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor work visas at this time.
