We’re searching for a Staff Global Supply Manager for sensors & electromechanical components, who will be the strategic owner of a critical portion of our supply chain. This high-impact role requires a deep blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen to manage our sourcing and purchasing strategy for electromechanical and sensor technologies. You will be responsible for defining and executing the supply chain strategy for various commodities that form the backbone of our products, ensuring a reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply for our hardware.
In this role, you will
- Work cross-functionally to understand technology requirements and business objectives such as BOM cost target and program schedule. Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that meet those goals.
- Develop and manage sustainable and positive supplier relationships while achieving our objectives.
- Accurately capture NRE, tooling, capital equipment and material costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction or cost avoidance.
- Negotiate terms & conditions and prices with suppliers to secure pricing and supply commitment.
- Partner closely with our Legal Team to review/draft and finalize legal agreements such as Purchase/Supply Agreements, SOWs, etc.
- Monitor industry and global market conditions, track technology roadmaps, identify supply and demand challenges and opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required): In Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Industrial), or a related technical field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Global Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement
- Proven track record of managing complex global supply chains by demonstrating success in leading strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating high-value contracts, and managing supplier relationships for critical components
- Deep understanding of AV components: Sensors, ECUs, wiring harnesses, electromechanical systems, and the associated manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and cost modeling skills, ability to transform data into insight
- Ability to influence and convince internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Legal, Program Management and Finance
- Tenacity in solving problems and has a “can do” attitude
- Adaptability and Resilience in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and people skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Automotive Industry (especially Tier 1 or OEM suppliers): Experience with complex, safety-critical components and high-volume manufacturing
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes like SMT and injection molding to support cost analysis and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Experience with teardown analysis of competitor products to inform strategic sourcing decisions
- Project experience managing Top level assembly (TLA) and subcomponents supply chain
The base salary range for this position is $143,000-$229,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
