We’re searching for a Senior Systems Engineer, Vehicle Platform.

In this role, you will

  • Work hands-on at the interface of the Aurora Driver and our OEM partners’ vehicle platforms
  • Provide vehicle-specific functional integration support with Aurora’s evolving hardware kit generations
  • Develop and execute on-vehicle test plans against Aurora’s vehicle platform requirements, including functional and interface verification, fault injection, and performance characterization
  • Investigate fleet field issues and work cross-functionally within Aurora and with our OEM partners to identify technical or operational mitigations
  • Own and deliver evidence to support Aurora’s Safety Case claims related to vehicle platform safety and performance

 

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong physics and engineering fundamentals spanning electrical, mechanical, and software systems
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle testing and data analysis, including use and customization of automotive specific tools such as CANalyzer, CANape, etc.
  • Experience designing and executing experiments on electrical, mechanical, and software systems
  • Proven ability to root cause issues in complex systems
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to coordinate testing and analysis efforts across a large number of stakeholders, internal and external
  • BS or MS, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant engineering field

 

Desirable Qualifications (this section is optional)

  • Experience developing, implementing, and/or testing vehicle level control software for major subsystems (powertrain, battery, chassis, etc.)
  • Competence in scripting (e.g. Python) for batch processing of log data
  • Knowledge of class 8 truck-specific systems (e.g. air systems, trailers, etc.)

 

The base salary range for this position is $135,000-$216,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
