Job Description
The International Distribution Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the global distribution network of our scientific equipment and associated consumables. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of international shipping and distribution operations to ensure achievement of sales targets and seamless support for the distribution network.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Identify potential distributors and evaluate their suitability as channel partners.
- Arrange for comprehensive training of distributor specialist staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies and develop a plan to reinforce this training on an on-going basis
- Drive the sales performance of each distributor to meet or exceed targets.
- Collaborate with distributors to develop and execute sales plans and marketing strategies.
- Establish processes for distributors to provide regular forecast updates and sales activity reports.
- Analyze distributor performance metrics and market data to make informed decisions.
- Provide regular updates and detailed reports to senior management on distributor activities and performance.
- Monitor and support distributors to ensure they have the resources and support needed to succeed.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting international distribution.
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing international distributors or a similar role, preferably in the scientific equipment or manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of distribution networks and market dynamics in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
- Proven experience in developing and executing distributor sales strategies and training programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field.
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $100 - $140k. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
