About the role:
Samsara is looking for experienced Engineering managers to be part of our Core Platform team. The team is responsible for the core enterprise capabilities that power Samsara’s Connected Operations platform. This includes our Reporting, Alerting, Org/User management, Release management, Monetization capabilities to support our rapidly growing footprint of customers. This organization is building the foundation to stay ahead of the needs of our expanding customer base and platform.
As an Engineering Manager at Samsara, you will lead teams to develop features that have a tangible impact on active and future customers. You’ll hire and develop your team, define project plans and roadmaps, and work with your engineers to define next-generation technology across our platform.
We use Golang for our backend, Typescript and React for our web client, GraphQL to fetch data from our backend, and React Native for our mobile app. Direct experience with these technologies is not required
This is a remote position open to candidates based in Poland. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:
- Participate with senior leadership and cross-functional peers to develop a long-term roadmap and strategy for Samsara’s telematics feature sets
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy
- Set quarterly goals and balance product/engineering priorities for maximum impact
- Drive planning and execution on the roadmap, delivering features and infrastructure enhancements to delight customers
- Set a high-standard for the reliability of your components
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we expand and scale our mobile presence (more apps across more geographies)
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications
- Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large scale application services
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
- Proven record of attracting top-talent and coaching the team
- 8+ years of relevant software engineering work experience
- 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience
- You speak English proficiently
An ideal candidate also has:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Experience building customer-facing web and mobile workflow applications
