Manager, Data Analytics & Insights

TL:DR Aura is a beautifully designed WiFi picture frame and photo-sharing platform with a global team of 70+. We’re looking for a data-driven data analytics manager who will support our direct to consumer business. This role reports to the VP & GM, Direct to Consumer, and is a critical part of scaling our DTC business in 2024, to support aggressive growth and profitability goals.

Our Story

We were founded by early Twitter software engineers who wanted to take what they knew about social connections and create a way for families to come together around their best memories. The combination of seamless sharing across a smartphone app and a beautiful digital frame resonated, and Aura is now used by millions of families. People love our product – it connects them with their loved ones and makes them smile. Wirecutter calls us the best digital picture frame, and we're now available in thousands of leading retail stores across North America and Europe.

Role Description

This role is new to Aura and will be a major contributor toward on-site and marketing performance optimizations for our DTC team. You’ll work closely with a variety of business stakeholders to answer questions about Aura data, advising on data interpretation and making recommendations toward next steps. The target annual salary for this role is $150,000.

What you’ll do

  • Support Aura’s eCommerce and marketing teams in driving conversion rate optimization across our website and Amazon storefronts, by means of identifying opportunities through data analysis
  • Drive understanding of shopper behavior on our website and in our marketing channels, and work with business stakeholders to identify areas for improvement (e.g. website funnel behavior, marketing messaging, or audience targeting)
  • Lead development of advanced analytics techniques to help us make smarter, more data-rich decisions (e.g. customer LTV and channel-level attribution; mapping word-of-mouth customer journeys; consumer cohort analysis)
  • Partner closely with the website product owner to design, execute and report on AB tests on AuraFrames.com and Amazon, ensuring proper measurement setup and follow-through on results and recommendations
  • Work with our paid media lead and use data from multiple digital and offline marketing channels to recommend actions that will improve CPA and/or our ability to scale investment
  • Assist in forecasting business growth on a channel level, to inform manufacturing plans
  • Monitor multiple data sources and  performance trends to proactively discover areas of opportunity
  • Take ad hoc questions and extrapolate them into larger analyses
  • Produce actionable insights and proactive recommendations in weekly and monthly reporting; maintain and optimize Metabase dashboards

Key Qualifications

  • Expert analytical skills, with advanced understanding of eCommerce metrics and frameworks
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations for driving business growth
  • Can read and write SQL; has experience with BI tools (e.g. Metabase, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Advanced experience with data analytics and business tools (e.g. GA4, Excel)
  • Proficient with A/B testing tools (e.g. VWO, Google Optimize)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a business analytics or related role, in an eCommerce capacity
  • Proactive self-starter who is comfortable working independently and cross-functionally
  • Extra credit:
    • Other coding languages or familiarity with infrastructure such as JSON
    • Amazon marketplace experience, including their AB testing tool
    • Proficiency in our existing tools and platforms, including Metabase, GA4, VWO, Shopify, Klaviyo, BigQuery, Amazon Marketing Cloud, Mixpanel
