Salary

$100,000 - $130,000. C


AWS/DevOps Engineer will focus on managing Quantum–Si’s AWS and server infrastructure. Working closely with the technical team to manage hosted applications and systems across multiple sites in a hybrid environment. Assist with capacity planning and designing isolated infrastructure to ensure data integrity and security. 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: 

  • Ability to build enterprise-grade systems in AWS including the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure. 
  • Partner with cloud application teams to optimize deployments and configuration strategies. 
  • Assist with project managing assigned projects and tasks. 
  • Provide hands-on support for existing infrastructure across multiple teams including software installation, server management, patch installation, upgrades, network configuration, query writing, configuration, security, system monitoring and tuning, disaster recovery planning, and release deployments. 
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis for application issues to include triage, environment validation, application configuration, network/connectivity. 
  • Implement tools and automation for build, configuration management, continuous integration (CI), static and dynamic code analysis, deployment, and application monitoring.  
  • Develop and ensure all relevant application and database KPI’s are implemented within the monitoring framework. 
  • Participate in all Production Support activities during incidents and outages. Hands-on technical resource capable of resolving all technical issues within lower and upper environments and making recommendations for performance and capacity improvements. 
  • Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of the application infrastructure. 
  • The desire to resolve issues for a 24X7 environment in a non-impacting yet fast-paced resolve time. 
  • Lead change control efforts for systems under management. 
  • Actively develop and manage our cybersecurity approach and compliance of cloud infrastructure. 

 

Qualifications 

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required or relevant, equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. 
  • 5+ years’ experience with AWS services: 
  • Networking: VPC / Subnets / Route Tables / VPG / Direct Connect 
  • Compute: EC2 / Autoscaling / Load Balancers 
  • Data: RDS, Redshift, ElasticCache, S3 
  • Kubernetes: EKS / ECR 
  • Security: SecurityHub, Config, Detective, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, IAM 
  • Ability to run and modify Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts in CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible. 
  • Knowledge debugging containers running in a Kubernetes cluster. 
  • Linux system administration – ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu) and services. 
  • Networking: Solid understanding of routing and networking concepts. 
  • AWS provisioning and caching. 
  • AWS cost management. 
  • Change control and disaster recovery processes. 
  • GitHub and software engineering experience. 
  • Project management and collaboration with internal and external colleagues. 

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!) 

  • Monitoring & Security Applications: ArcticWolf, CrowdStrike, DataDog, Atlassian 
  • Familiarity with airflow, redshift, and dbt. 

 

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $100,000 - $130,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position,  an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
