Interview Process

1. 60-minute intro and technical screen Zoom call with an engineering leader. 2. Assuming there's a mutual fit, we run through an interview loop with 3-4 team members (45-60 minutes each).

We’re looking for experienced engineers to join our engineering team. As a member of our growing team you will have the opportunity of working with other amazing engineers while building and scaling our SaaS platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate engineer to help build an exciting product with the most modern cloud native technologies. The ideal candidate will have had roles with full stack development titles.

Alcion is a distributed, remote-only team and we are hiring in all time zones.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Own meaningful parts of the product. You will help design, build, and test significant full-stack features in the product.
  • Use a breadth of skills at every level of development - from UX wire-framing, CSS styling, REST APIs, and backend development of new features.
  • Automate code quality with unit tests and end-to-end UI tests
  • Design and develop responsive web applications for Alcion's SaaS system.
  • Assist in UI implementation to ensure our app is intuitive and responsive.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for product operations (daytime hours only).
  • Ensure security is baked into your designs and code from the beginning.
  • Document your design decisions to support our async, remote work environment.
  • Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers to build the Alcion platform and support it in production.
  • Work with a modern technology stack based on containers, serverless infrastructure, Golang, JAMstack, public cloud services, and other cutting edge technologies in the SaaS domain.
    • Requirements
  • At least one year of experience with a reactive framework such as React or Vue.
  • Ability to implement designs in mobile-responsive CSS and experience with a CSS preprocessor such as SASS or LESS.
  • Experience building reusable web components
  • Strong experience designing and building RESTful Services, APIs, and integrations with external systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have backend development experience using Golang.
  • Experience with CI/CD.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • 2+ years of experience building SaaS web apps.
  • Experience designing & implementing event-driven architectures.
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A strong bias toward action and direct, frequent communication.

  • Experience with AWS services.
  • Experience working in startup environments or on early-stage products.
  • Open Source Software contributions.

    We start with a 60-minute intro and technical screen Zoom call with an engineering leader. Assuming there’s a mutual fit, we run through an interview loop with 3-4 team members (45-60 minutes each).

    We use real-world problems in our interviews instead of LeetCode style coding challenges/puzzles that will give you a sense of the engineering tasks you will be working on.
