• Assist teams to leverage tools to gain better insight into the behavior of their systems in production.

• Collaborate across teams to evolve our platform architecture.

About the SRE Team

The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is an enablement team built to support development teams at CircleCI in making their services scalable, reliable, and performant. Their mission is to improve our observability, incident management, and propagate the SRE culture. They rely on driving technical changes that contribute to their mission and establishing the cultural norms that help enable the engineering teams.

What we're looking for:

Do you love collaboration and teamwork? Are you eager to learn new things and help others learn, too? Are you a strong communicator in both synchronous and asynchronous mediums? If so, here are some additional qualities we like:

You are experienced in some of the languages and technologies we use and enthusiastic about learning the others. We use:

• Golang
• Kubernetes/Helm
• Terraform
• RabbitMQ
• Hashicorp Vault
• AWS

You have been part of teams that are responsible for leading incident response, post-incident analysis and reporting and you will bring valuable lessons to our SRE team from your past experiences.

You are passionate about improving observability and monitoring and are experienced with distributed tracing. You know what the useful metrics are and are willing to deep dive into customer journeys to find the right SLIs and SLOs in collaboration with multi-functional teams.

Who you are:

Ideally, you have 3+ years of infrastructure or DevOps or SRE development experience, particularly within the realm of observability. You endeavor to see problems and projects to completion with a demonstrated ability to lead teams that deliver high-quality code with strong testing practices.

You are a strong believer and proponent of the SRE culture.

You strive for continuous learning and improvement for yourself and your team, providing technical mentorship wherever possible.
