Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Developer Products builds tools that empower our developer users to build and integrate with Stripe. We aim to create new tools and experiences that can solve hard problems for our developer users that still give them meaningful and high-leverage ways for them to integrate. Our surface area ranges from installable tools like the Stripe CLI and Stripe for VS Code, to hosted surfaces like the Developer Dashboard and Stripe Shell, to backend services like a websocket multiplexor for event streaming.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Build new products and tools (like the Stripe CLI, the Stripe Shell, Stripe for VS Code, and a new upcoming platform tool) that improve Stripe's developer experience
  • Add new features to existing products, continuing to keep our developer experience first-in-class
  • Influence the direction of our developer products by gathering insights and feedback from our developer community
  • Work across different products, tech stacks, and programming languages
  • Turn ambiguous problems that our developer users are facing into concrete products, from proposal, to kick-off, to building, and launch

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years in engineering across a wide range of products
  • Prior experience building tools and products for developers
  • Comfortable jumping between both backend and frontend systems
  • Comfortable working directly with users
  • Strong product mindset

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with multiple languages (Ruby, Go, Java, Node…)
  • Prior experience working across many teams
