Position Summary 
 
As a Release Engineer at Swiftly, you will help develop and drive a high-quality release pipeline to efficiently and effortlessly deliver our products to our retail partners using a variety of distribution mechanisms and methods. We want to grow our quality engineering team with someone capable of bringing deep expertise in build infrastructure, test automation, release processes/monitoring, and coding experience along with insights across all areas of the codebase to help us improve how we get the best code to our customer. 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Design, implement and maintain our build & release infrastructure to ensure our internal teams and retail partners have an effective and efficient pipeline with which to work
  • Evangelize and support automated testing and monitoring to establish high build reliability and quality in concert with our SRE and SDET teams
  • Take initiative to maintain the health of the project and build infrastructure
  • Work with retail partners to review and demonstrate new release functionality, coordinate UAT tasking and timelines, and gather UAT feedback into actionable items for engineering
  • Create and manage a release calendar and wiki, coordinating with stakeholders around key dates in the software testing and release cycle
  • Monitor builds throughout the release process, including production monitoring (via alerts) post-release
  • Required Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in either a development or a prior build/release engineering role, with practical experience working with at least one build system (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Strong experience with version control systems (Git preferred)
  • Driven multiple releases of production-level code on mobile platforms (Android/Apple) with experience in owning and coordinating ITT/TestFlight UAT releases, as well as practical experience in web releases
  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting build and release systems under pressure
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially around documentation
  • Ability to work with customer-facing tasking to own/drive retailer partner demo sessions
  • Able to thrive in a self-driven environment
  • Have a high bar for quality results and the technical discipline to get us there
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience working with Azure DevOps for build and release management
  • 1+ years of experience working with Kotlin and/or Espresso in an automated build validation system
