For us, this means especially two things: human agency is a core part of how AI is built and integrated, and corporate accountability is real and enforced.

The People & Culture Generalist serves as the project coordinator for the People & Culture Team (P&C), proactively monitoring, capturing, and supervising all people related projects and activities against the Team calendar; regularly providing status updates.  Acting as the hub, they will support general HR administration including pulling and preparing reports, handling payroll, PTO, and benefits administration processes, and supporting the Coordinators/People Partners where needed.  This role will ensure the smooth delivery of key HR processes; making recommendations for improvements. 

As a People & Culture Generalist at Mozilla, you will work in…

HR Administration

  • Prepare reporting for headcount, bi-monthly payroll submissions for US, Canada, monthly for DE & UK, Mauve employees (including Bi-weekly), PTO report, anniversary report and benefits
  • Lead and update the P&C Team calendar; assembling key dates for local government, industry, and company regulations, changes, and initiatives
  • Track, approve, and troubleshoot  benefits and time off utilization to include the Wellness and Professional Development programs
  • Timely collect all employee changes from Workday via reporting; collaborating with outsourced payroll processor to ensure changes are reflected in PEO database 
  • Proactively support as back up for the HR & Recruitment Coordinators on various tasks where needed

Project Coordination

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the teams initiatives
  • Own the teams weekly project/priority meeting; reporting project status, risks, and dependencies
  • Work closely with the Director, People & Culture to ensure all HR projects are sufficiently resourced
  • Handle the relationship with, and act as liaison for, third-party providers (such as TriNet, Mauve, Upwork)
  • Update and maintain project tracker calendar, ensuring the timely execution of initiatives
  • Analyze project tracker to communicate weekly priorities to the organization
  • Lead in the development of project communication plans to ensure clarity on delegation of duties 

Process Management

  • Research and analyze trends and metrics to build and implement improvements and/or solutions, programs and policies that are suitable for the team
  • Own the payroll approval process and provide any support required 
  • Propose recommendations for training and development using existing training portals (e.g. Udemy) and increase utilization of professional development budget aligned to employees’ development needs
  • Where required, provide direction and training on cross-organisation processes to include onboarding, anniversaries, and job description audits
  • Support development and implementation of people strategies, policies, and practices that reinforce interpersonal goals and needs 
  • Lead performance review and other regular people initiatives
  • Provide advice and counsel to department heads, managers, and staff on updating and interpreting programs

Your Professional Profile:

  • At least 5 years HR project management experience 
  • Robust leadership skills and ability to form collaborations with partners across the organization
  • Experience in the many fields within HR, including diversity and inclusion, performance management, compensation and benefits, talent management, employee relations etc.
  • Ability to identify and look after sensitive and confidential matters with a high level of discretion, tact and empathy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Certification or degree in Human Resources

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with other departments as needed/required on country specific requirements
  • Research and maintain knowledge of changing people trends in the non-profit and technology fields
  • Stay up to date on sector- and team-specific market trends (talent, skills, compensation and otherwise)
  • Present creative approaches to solutions
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and take care of priorities

Salary and Benefits Information:

The Mozilla Foundation is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation for our staff. We aim to pay a competitive and market-based salary based on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. We aim to offer at the midpoint of our salary ranges for the purposes of increasing inclusivity and fairness of our offer process and ensuring internal equity. We do not ask for, or take into account, salary histories in our offer process.

The base salary ranges, and the mid-point, for this role is listed below. We target the 75th percentile of market pay as a salary band midpoint for all levels, with 10% either side of the midpoint to create a salary range.These four countries are where we most commonly employ staff.

  • Germany: €69,039 - €84,381 (mid-point: €76,710)
  • UK: £40,939 - £50,037 (mid-point: £45,488)
  • Canada: $78,160 - $95,528 (mid-point: $86,844)
  • US: $73,271 - $89,553 (mid-point: $81,412)

We may also add in a geographic differential to this base salary based on the local job market. This would be  applied to the above ranges depending on the successful candidate’s location. Below are some of the common cities in which we hire staff along with examples of salary ranges,with the geographical differential applied:

  • Inner London: £44,623 - £54,540 (mid-point: £49,581)
  • Toronto: $84,334 - $103,075 (mid-point: $93,704)
  • New York: $81,183 - $99,224 (mid-point: $90,204)
