The Opportunity

The DOM: Core team at Mozilla cares deeply about Firefox’s high-performing web rendering engine, Gecko. We aim for intelligent hardware utilization, excellent user interaction, continuous architecture hardening and web compatibility. We push the boundaries of what the web is capable of. We do this by delivering outstanding implementations in Firefox of the standardized APIs, such as DOM and  HTML

Our team is geographically-distributed. We work with the broader web community. Working in the open is the norm.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Write code and tests, read specifications, participate in specification discussions, and tackle problems with no clear solution.
  • Learn about a wide variety of problems and solutions across a large, mature codebase.
  • Work with driven, committed team members to bring the open web to people around the world.

What You Bring

  • Experience with programming in C/C++.
  • Basic knowledge of the modern web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, and/or CSS) .
  • Passions to learn new tools, techniques and programming languages.
  • Comfortable contacting people and driving discussions (requires good asynchronous written communication skills as well as good verbal communication skills in English).
  • Enrolled in a university in or around Berlin and are available to come to our offices during regular working hours depending on your schedule.
