Quick take: Axios is a growth-stage company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring a Demand Generation Marketer to help grow our new paid subscription business!

Why it matters: As a growth marketer, you will assist with marketing acquisition initiatives for Axios Pro, including direct conversions and lead/demand generation. You’ll execute campaigns across different marketing channels and work closely with various teams to build a best-in-class marketing program to generate revenue for our paid subscription business.

Go deeper: As part of the Growth team at Axios, you’ll be implementing the marketing program for our paid subscription business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing marketing and optimization programs to generate new leads and subscribers
  • Leveraging both paid and organic channels for customer acquisition, such as house ads, email marketing, social media, display advertising, paid search, content marketing and sponsorships
  • Running A/B tests to improve conversions from advertising tactics and the conversion funnel
  • Developing messages, writing ad copy and working with Design on creative assets for various marketing channels
  • Reporting campaign progress, presenting data-driven insights and recommending next steps to increase the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns
  • Partnering with the Product/Tech team to execute optimizations of a customer buyer journey to increase conversions
  • Working closely with other Marketing and Growth team members on cross-promotions, the Client Success team on retention, the Sales team on demand generation and the Data/Analytics team on reporting and analysis

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

  • Exceptional collaboration skills, especially with Product, Technology and Client Success teams
  • Experience in customer acquisition marketing in a subscription business
  • Understanding of customer segments and journey through the conversion funnel
  • Experience in politics and policy is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and a knack for using data to make decisions
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • An independent and creative thinker who takes initiative and makes things happen

On target earnings for this role is in the range of $65,000-$75,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits.
