Aurora’s Cloud Security team’s mission is to design and build security capabilities for Aurora Services. Aurora makes extensive use of public cloud infrastructure (AWS), Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code technologies. This role is focused on designing and implementing security infrastructure into AWS to create a mature cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will partner with our Infrastructure team, and in some cases with development teams that own individual services. Your focus will be security, but you will need to understand the above areas well to be effective in the role. 

 

Job level is negotiable based on experience. Remote work is approved for US-based employees, including for post-pandemic.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and build a security infrastructure on AWS
  • Design and build CSPM and Cloud Security Prevention systems to prevent exposure
  • Secure AWS cloud environment in the areas of but not limited to: Manage IAM roles and policies, enforce security controls and construct security boundaries for resources and services.
  • Create automations to solve security problems at the root

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in working in security and public cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with IAM, OAuth2
  • Experience with AWS (VPC, SCP, Security Groups) or equivalent cloud security experience
  • Mastery of at least one programming language: Python, Go
  • Fundamental understanding of network security, OS security, AWS security best practices

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and writing and reviewing Terraform
  • Experience with microservices and containerization
  • Experience with deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience with Devops/Devsecops, CI/CD

The base salary range for this position is $196k-$294K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
