The Growth Marketing team

Driving thoughtful customer growth is at the core of how we’ve scaled over the past 5 years, and we’re building out our dedicated Growth Marketing team to support these efforts. You’ll play a big part in bringing Monzo to more people who we've never been able to reach before, so we get closer to our mission of making money work for everyone. Design plays a big role in this, so you’ll be in charge of how the brand experience across performance marketing looks.

The role

We are seeking an experienced digital designer to join our team. You will work across a range of digital media, including Paid Social, UAC, Programmatic, App Store, web, and more. You will have creative input across all areas of our performance requirements, developing new ideas and spotting creative opportunities to communicate our brand and engage with our target audiences.

You will design and animate assets for paid marketing channels using static and video content, helping to communicate our diverse product offering to our audiences and drive engagement. You will take an iterative, test & learn approach with your creative, developing existing creative and working on new concepts. We’re looking for a designer who has a passion to understand consumer behaviour, is able to add creative flair and create thumb-stopping content for our current and future customers.

You will work closely with the brand designers to expand our current brand portfolio and ensuring it is kept fresh and exciting. You will work with our FinProm team to ensure our creative complies with regulatory requirements. You will be a brand guardian for the business, ensuring all designs are kept on-brand and of high quality. We love designers to come in with insights, ideas and concepts that will help take our brand to the next level.

You should apply if you:

  • Have an excellent portfolio, showing relevant digital design experience
  • Have experience in producing performance marketing creative across the full marketing mix
  • Have experience working on creative concepts for campaigns
  • Have experience with motion design in AfterEffects as part of your design skillset
  • Have good knowledge of creative best practice by paid channel/platform (we work across Meta, Twitter, Snap, UAC and TikTok).
  • Are passionate about learning about what the creative levers are in your designs, that help influence users to interact and engage.
  • Have worked in a design role in a fast-paced environment, and are comfortable working autonomously

Bonus

  • Are able to use data points to help influence your creative decisions
  • Prior experience at high-growth startups
  • Experience with photography/videography
  • Experience with Blender or 3D software

The Interview Process:

Our interview process involves three main stages: 

  1. Recruiter Call (30mins)
  2. x1 Design focused interview (this will include discussion of a case study that you will be asked to prepare prior to this interview (60minutes)
  3. x1 Values & Marketing collaboration interview (60mins)

Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
