We are seeking a Software Engineer to join us in a team player role, engaging engineering excellence alongside a highly collaborative group of business-minded technologists and giving back to the customers and the payments community. As a team contributor in our software engineering org, you will be a driving force behind the delivery of multiple business objectives that leverage and extend our technical platforms. This is a great opportunity for a software engineer to apply their industry and academic experience, engage with senior engineers, and help merchants, merchant aggregators, and fintechs scale with speed and confidence. 
Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of SDLC, programming principles, combined with empirical professional experience into innovative solutions for next generation software applications
  • Develop, implement, document libraries, frameworks and APIs that allow us to effectively scale development on our applications across multiple projects as common services or components, within scope, cost, time & quality constraints
  • Build quality into agile product lifecycle encompassing requirements, design, code, testing, delivery, support
  • Collaborate in the product lifecycle with senior engineers, development managers, and product managers
  • Support our products, identify and fix root causes of production incidents, contribute to troubleshooting and resolution of support issues
  • Participate in discovery, solutioning, monitoring, and incident response/resolution
  • Demonstrate data-driven analysis and pragmatic decision making aligned with business and technology needs
  • Differentiate between immediate needs vs long term solutions
  • Challenge yourself and the team to stay current with the latest technology trends
  • Build productive internal/external working relationships
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer science, or equivalent amount of experience
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • 1+ years’ web-based applications
  • Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Strong communication, partnership, and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, SQL, web programming, design patterns, SOLID principles
  • Bonus Points For...
  • 1+ years experience with REST services, SOA, micro-services
  • 1+ years experience unit testing, mocking frameworks, test automation frameworks
  • DevOps mindset – experience in a mature CI/CD SDLC environment, implemented exception handling, logging, monitoring, performance measurement, operational metrics knowledge
  • Open source contribution, repositories, personal projects
  • Experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Certifications in technology, agile methodologies
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
