1. Take home project that resembles a problem Airtable solves for 2. Five hour on-site which includes a discussion of the project, UI design, discussing architectural tradeoffs, and code debugging.

Salary

$248,805-$322,905.

Our Test Automation Frameworks team within Quality Engineering is responsible for building foundation-level software enabling automated testing at scale. As a Software Engineers in Test focused on performance you will have the opportunity to influence the team’s vision and strategy, and help with hiring and mentoring other team members.

What you'll do

  • Lead a team of two engineers focused on backend and frontend performance testing.
  • Architect, build, and scale our performance testing tools and frameworks.
  • Work closely with the rest of engineering, as well as other stakeholders from our engineering, sales, marketing, and product teams, to understand the performance needs and define appropriate testing approaches.
  • Identify gaps in current testing approach, strategize on a plan to fill the gaps, and execute that plan.
  • Define and implement metrics to communicate the quality of the product.
  • Take initiative on opportunities to improve the QE process, and to expand test coverage and capabilities.

Who you are

  • You are a hands-on technical leader experienced in leading and mentoring other engineers, defining technical strategy and executing on it both personally and through others.
  • You have professional experience designing, implementing and maintaining scalable performance and load testing solutions from scratch. 
  • You can write clear, correct code in at least one programming language, and are willing to become effective in others as needed to get your job done.
  • You are comfortable working with other teams to understand common pain points and incorporate them into new test scenarios. 
  • Bonus points if you've created infrastructure for CI to use in running test automation.

The compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their location, relevant skills and experience. For Colorado and New York City based roles, the base salary range for this role is $248,805-$322,905. The total compensation package also includes the opportunity to receive benefits, restricted stock units, and may include incentive compensation.
