About the Role
The Studio Manager will be a critical member of our creative operations team. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure photography assets are executed to Food52 brand standards and delivered on-time for seasonal campaign launches, monthly product launches, and special projects as they come up. The Studio Manager is the point person to oversee all functionalities of the studio and studio equipment, including equipment needed for each shoot and ensuring we hit our daily shot list count on time and within budget. You’re the perfect fit for the role if you pair obsessive-level organizational habits with time management skills, and a sense of humor.

Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Director, Creative Ops, you’ll work closely with our Creative Ops team, including studio team, design team and VP of Creative. As a key member of this team, you’ll also partner with Marketing, Commerce and freelance talent.

Responsibilities
  • Manage creative operation for all photography requests from pre-production to delivery of final assets.
  • Develop shot lists on a weekly basis and book talent accordingly. Confirm sample availability with commerce prior to shoots and partner with Art Director before sending out weekly call sheets.
  • QC select and file names before assigning out to retouching. Flag errors to photographers if needed.
  • Establish and manage positive relationships with Food52 internal teams including Design, Marketing, Copy, Buyers, and Brand Partnership team, as well as freelancers.
  • Plan and assign resources, rework schedules, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and identify and resolve open issues that prevent progress.
  • Maintain studio calendar.
  • Manage creative ops budget in partnership with Director, Creative Ops. Coordinate invoicing between freelancers and finance, reconcile with budget.
  • Ensure all production schedule deadlines are met; manage and execute corrective action as necessary.
  • Build on the current processes and infrastructure to drive efficiency, improve process and communication and create best-in-class creative ops team standards.
  • General studio maintenance as needed.
  • Requirements
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience with budget management
  • Competency in Capture One and Adobe Photoshop. Experience with WebDam a plus
  • Familiarity with all studio tools, lighting, technical software and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience working across teams and various levels of management
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player
  • Familiar and comfortable working in various project management and creative platforms (Asana, Trello, Airtable, Smartsheets, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Freelance management experience is a plus
  • Compensation & Benefits
    For residents of CT, NJ or NY the compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $86,600. Factors used to determine the salary range for a given position may impact what salary within the stated range may be offered to any particular candidate (e.g., years of experience, level of education obtained, etc.).
