Job overview:

We are a San Francisco-based healthcare and technology company looking for an experienced Platform engineer to join our growing team. Our program supports people in making lifestyle changes to improve their health, and ultimately, their lives. As a key member of our Platform engineering team, you will play a role in designing, building, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure necessary to support Omada’s mission. The Platform Engineering team is responsible for both the operational integrity of our infrastructure and DevOps processes and works closely with the team responsible for empowering our engineers with developer tooling.

About you:

You work with empathy for your teammates, stakeholders and users. You are excited to work cross-functionally with a variety of people and ideas. You work directly with stakeholders to design solutions and drive technical decisions for delivery.  You are motivated to learn new technologies and ready to drive technical work.  You are enthusiastic about providing the best possible solution. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building scalable cloud infrastructure.

Your impact:

  • You will be part of the development and operation of Omada’s digital health program infrastructure.
  • You will play a key role building and scaling our platform one piece at a time, supporting our ability to deliver a personalized experience to program participants and empower our health coaches to deliver timely and effective interventions
  • You will work closely (including pair programming) with the rest of the Platform team, product engineering teams, and other technical teams.
  • You will build cross-functional relationships with software engineers, data scientists, and technical program managers to understand stakeholder needs, and deliver solutions addressing those needs.
  • You will manage high availability and disaster recovery systems, procedures, and readiness.
  • You will maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD infrastructure.
  • You will work with developers to design and improve developer tooling and capability, such as secrets-management or development environments.
  • You will mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members.

Requirements for this role:

  • Experience designing and implementing cloud architectures, preferably AWS.
  • Experience operating a container orchestrator (bonus points for Kubernetes clusters experience).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in, or willingness to learn, Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience in Application Performance Monitoring, metrics, observability, logging, etc.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal. Skilled at writing documentation for others.
  • Interest in working in a DevSecOps culture - we’re moving towards this. For example, our CI/CD pipelines have some automated security testing.
  • Comfortable working in, configuring, and troubleshooting virtual Linux server environments.
  • Building, deploying, and/or hosting Docker images and containers.
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rotation, for the day that something important does break
  • Full time role, must be able to work on W-2. Not open to C2C at this time

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with PostgreSQL.

You will love this job if you:

  • Want to make a difference in how people manage real life problems.
  • Work in an agile, test-driven, pair programming, continuous delivery environment.
  • Mentor and learn from teammates. Train and collaborate with newer developers in how to write great code and solve problems effectively.
  • You are interested in the following technologies, which is a subset of the technologies we use: EKS, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Datadog.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with generous annual cash bonus
  • Stock options
  • Remote-first, work-from-home culture
  • Flexible vacation to help you rest, recharge, and connect with loved ones
  • Generous parental leave
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (and above market employer contributions)
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Work-from-Home stipend
  • Monthly mental wellness days
  • Two giftable Omada enrollments per calendar year
  • ...and more!
