In this role, you will

  • Lead and manage a team of Mapping Operations specialists working on building Aurora’s high definition maps (the Aurora Atlas).
  • Partner closely and work effectively across multiple functions within Aurora to deliver high quality maps and support Aurora’s on-road operations and product development.
  • Develop processes to uplevel the productivity of the operations team and quality of deliverables as well as drive operational excellence across the team.
  • Partner with engineering teams and leaders in developing the tools and processes used by the Operations team.
  • Execute on Aurora’s plan to scale mapping operations; define  and evolve the team and processes as Aurora scales its mapping operations.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership capacity, preferably managing SW operations teams (mapping operations, labeling, devops)
  • Proven track record of growing, motivating and managing high performing teams
  • Excellent people management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience utilizing and developing productivity metrics
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in Mapping / GIS
  • Experience in Autonomous Driving, primarily operations in Autonomous Driving
  • Experience in collaboration with engineering teams and a general understanding of SW development
  • Experience implementing quality management / quality improvement processes
  • Project management experience

The base salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$239,000.00 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
