As a Staff QA Engineer, you will report to the Senior QA Manager and will work closely with Senior Quality Engineers in their areas of focus and specialization providing mentorship and guidance.

What are some of the high impact opportunities you’ll tackle?

  • Define and drive the adoption of our QE Technical strategy to put test automation at the front of the development and deployment workflow
  • Strengthen and refine our automated testing processes to increase their impact; work with guilds and other departments to build tools that move the needle
  • Design and develop test automation frameworks across testing layers (Unit, API, Integration , end-to-end, UI, performance, etc)
  • Contribute to the measurement of our quality processes through data-driven metrics
  • Be a key escalation point within the QE team to assist with things like production incidents
  • Take the initiative to find the gaps in our tools and processes and drive solutions. Be a vocal advocate for quality and share your knowledge with others to continue to cultivate a culture of quality

This opportunity is for you if you have/are:

  • 8+ years of combined professional experience as an Automation Engineer and/or Web Developer
  • Proven ability to define testing strategies throughout a Quality Engineering team
  • Solid, demonstrable experience implementing test automation infrastructure at scale; writing production code level test scripts with the ability to lead others to achieve the same outcome
  • Expert in at least one of the following: Ruby, Javascript, Python, other scripting languages
  • Deep knowledge in one or more modern testing frameworks like Cypress, RSpec, Selenium, etc.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing automated test frameworks that are adaptable, observable, maintainable, and stable
  • Ability and desire to invent creative solutions
  • Experience in a DevOps environment, with a good understanding of CI/CD using tools like Jenkins, Buildkite (or other similar tools)
  • Deep proficiency testing a SAAS web application with a strong focus on quality throughout the entire SDLC
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a love for technical challenges, and a willingness to learn
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to people at all levels and areas
  • Four-year university/college degree required
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

Bonus If You Have Experience With:

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with performance security and/or accessibility testing tools 
  • Understanding of standard security vulnerabilities
