We are searching for a System Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of Hardware-in-the-loop testing capabilities for the Aurora Driver. The HIL Platform team creates and operates scalable, Simulation-backed, Hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure to accelerate the development, verification, and deployment of Aurora software and hardware.
In this role, you will
- Create real-time software modules to induce and verify fault conditions in the Aurora Driver
- Work with Software, Hardware, and Safety Engineers to develop system verification test plans
- Contribute to the design of hardware-in-the-loop test benches to exercise the Aurora Driver under all hardware and software fault conditions
- Implement high-throughput, real-time sensor playback mechanisms to reproduce complex real-world scenarios
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of professional experience
- C or C++ development in large codebases
- Real-time software development
- Linux fundamentals and system architecture knowledge
- Ability to understand complex hardware/software systems and interactions
- Experience with lidar, radar, or camera systems
- Experience with CANBus architecture
- Experience with real-time simulation
The base salary range for this position is $168,000 - $252,000. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
