We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team. You will manage and mentor a small team of engineers, own software deliverables for a critical piece of our work to protect user safety, design and build systems at scale, and create a productive work environment for your team.
What does this mean more concretely? You'll work with a growing team of engineers who build both the client and back end of features for the Hinge app designed to protect user safety and privacy, and empower our teammates to fix issues when things don't go as planned. You and your team will work with product managers, data scientists, and designers to plan and deliver systems with a focus on reducing harassment, violence, bias, and scams, and ensuring that users who are looking for love and commitment are able to do so safely. In the process of this, you'll guide and mentor engineers with a wide variety of backgrounds as they develop both technical and leadership skills.
You'll also have the opportunity to participate in a company that values honest feedback and empathy, and that seeks to support and develop team members of all backgrounds and abilities

ResponsibilitiesOur Company:
Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted. In today’s digital world, singles are so focused on sending likes and looking through profiles that they’re not actually building meaningful connections and going on dates. Hinge is on a mission to change that by designing the most effective app experience. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll have unique conversations over the text, photos, and audio you’ve shared on your profile. And it’s resonating with daters. Hinge was the fastest-growing dating app in the US, UK, Canada and Australia in 2019 and 2020.
Our Culture:
- Authenticity: Share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.
- Courage: Invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism.
- Empathy: Be empathetic, communitarian and trustworthy.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
