About the role:

Samsara’s Connected Equipment team enables and supports the Equipment Monitoring portion of the Connected Operations Cloud, allowing our customers to ensure that they get the most out of their generators, cranes, and more. This team manages an established product but also has a number of areas of experimentation that we expect to bring into the main product offering over the coming quarters.

Our full-stack software team works closely with our hardware and firmware teams in addition to partnering with colleagues in product and design to deliver a top-notch customer experience.

In this role, you will: 

  • Propose technical solutions and lead technical decision making on some of the team’s initiatives
  • Help mentor, develop, and support other engineers on the team
  • Collaborate with other engineers as well as product and design to build, test, and ship new features to help our customers get the most out of their equipment
  • Bring a customer-focused mindset to all development, thinking through how our customers use our software and how best to meet their needs
  • Help foster an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment within the team and the larger engineering organization
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Customer-focused professional experience in any industry
  • An interest in growing and developing as a technical leader
  • Professional experience working with a team to develop software

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience with full-stack development in Go, Typescript, or React
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS
  • Worked in an environment with many interdependent services, for example, in a Microservice Architecture
