Why this role

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated front-end developer to join a team focusing on improving the user experience of Jenkins and CloudBees CI, our Jenkins based product.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with other team members on  CloudBees CI development, our Jenkins-based offering

  • Contribute to Jenkins, a software used by thousands of developers across the world.

  • Develop and maintain CloudBees products built on Jenkins.

  • Plan, design, implement, test, deliver, and maintain features in both proprietary and open-source codebases

  • Maintain the existing code by fixing bugs and reducing tech-debt

  • Write and improve the automated tooling to increase team productivity

What The Role Requires

  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Experience with modern UI frameworks (react preferred) and module bundlers such as Webpack.

  • Git usage

  • Experience in Java web applications, specially JSP and maven

  • Knowledge of developer tools such as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems, test tools, code quality tools, planning tools, IDEs and debugging tools

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills

  • Good English language communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Nice to have:

    • Java backend development experience

    • Experience modernizing the front-end technology used in a sizeable project

    • Experience with web testing tools (ideally Selenium)
