Interview Process

1. Chat with recruiter 2. Chat with one of our engineering leaders 3. Take home assignment that is not timed ( thinking about code production quality in arriving to a solution) 4. Virtual onsite (5 sessions: take home follow up discussion, architecture and design white boarding, chat with a product manager, chat about teamwork, and another meeting with hiring manager ~ about 4 hours) 5. Team matching (non-evaluative)

The Team You’ll Work With

You will work with one of the most exciting startup businesses in the world: CartaX. Our mission is to remove restrictions on when and how employee's of pre-IPO companies have access to liquidity.The CartaX team is responsible for building a private stock market from the ground up that allows employees and early investors to trade their shares of pre-IPO companies. CartaX is the world’s first vertically integrated financial marketplace for private assets and we’re just getting started. The CartaX team is composed of experts in building and operating marketplaces and brokerages, as well as a diverse set of team members with backgrounds in capital markets and SaaS platforms.

The Role

This role involves a broad range of functions including systems/business analysis, software development, and quality assurance services for Carta's newest team. The focus of the role will be the backend trading components of CartaX.

The Problems You’ll Solve 

You’ll be working for a regulated entity alongside legal and compliance teams in addition to the product and engineering teams to ensure that the systems built aren't just performant and functionally correct, but that they are also compliant with federal rules and regulations.

Some of the problems you’ll help us solve are: 

  • Own all of the testing pipeline - UI, functional, integration, regression, performance, white/black box, you name it.
  • Work closely with internal product and compliance teams to create a fully automated test and quality assurance program for client services, order execution, and post-trade systems.
  • Helps to define white box test case test steps as well as complementary black box test cases for corresponding stories.
  • Sets the standard and mentors all engineers on best practices around testing.

About You

You have 7 plus years experience in QA execution and planning.  You have extensive practical experience automating the testing of all aspects of a system from front end UI driving to backend services. Senior level testing experience within complex trading systems. Experience all facets of trading systems which may include matching engine, ATS, post-trade and execution services.

Most importantly you're excited to work on a product that will fundamentally change the way private companies view liquidity, going public and how employees exercise their options.
